Your Vallarta Wedding Checklist

 

You’ll be better off making good decisions, not quick ones.
Most brides begin planning their wedding 9-12 month in advance. But instead of enjoying the process, some try to run through their whole checklist the week they get engaged! Before you set things in stone realize your taste may change; if you commit too early, you may waste time and money.
Book somethings – wedding coordinator, the location, officiant and photographer right away. Then take a deep breath. Your goal should be to finish the big stuff three or four months before the wedding.
For best planning results, please follow this guideline.

 

6-12 MONTHS BEFORE

• Announce your engagement
• Talk with your fiancé and all your parents about the big picture: wedding budget, style, size, dates, sites and participants (think about the weddings you’ve been to -what did you like? Dislike? Disscuss with your fiance the kind of wedding that you want to have. (fomal, informal, intimate, or with a lot of guests, etc. Ceremony time, the location, the style, colors menus, etc)
• Plan a Budget
• Draw up a guests list
• Set the Date
• Hire a wedding a consultant
• Reserve the reception location
• Reserve the ceremony location
• Select your ceremony officiant or church
• Book your primary vendors:
– Photographer
– Videographer
– Caterer
• Shop for your dress
• Select your bridal party
• Choose bridesmaid dresses
• Mail save-the dates cards (this is suggested if you are marrying in a faraway location or over a holiday weekend)
• Select your bridal party
• Start shopping for your dress. Even if you haven’t booked your site, you’ll want a general idea of the wedding’s overall style.

3-6 MONTHS BEFORE

• Start gathering all the documentation for the civil and/or church ceremonies
• Reserve your Musicians (Select the the type of music for the ceremony (prelude, processional, ceremony and recessiona and for the reception (cocktail hour, dinner and dancing). Especialty musicians such as harpist or flamenco duo, etc are suggested to be hired 5-6 months in advance to ensure their availability. Other local musicians such us mariachi, trios, can be hired 2-3 months before the wedding.
• Reserve the banquet equipment (chairs, tables, linens, etc) if your wedding is taking place in a villa.
• Reserve your wedding transportation (bridal party transportation and guests transportation)
• Reserve your date with the florist and order the flowers
• Order your Wedding Cake
• Plan the details with your wedding planner (talk about wedding menus, flower details such us bouquet style, centerpieces, etc, go over ceremony details such us vows, readings, and music.
– Choose your dinner menu (when planning your reception, take into consideration the posible special dietary guests needs,althout it is impossible to foresee every guest’s needs, the more of an assortment you can provide, the better chance you have of making everyone happy)
• Choose your Bar package
• Creating of wedding day itinerary
•- Toast
• Reserve a block of hotel space for your guests
• Reserve your rehearsal dinner location
• Order your wedding invitations, ceremony programs, thank you notes, guest cards, menus and guests book.
• Choose and order your wedding dress
• Shop for bridesmaid dresses
• Buy your wedding bands
• Establish a gift register
• Finalize the guests list.
• Order your invitation (the invitation should reflect the style of wedding you want to have)

2 MONTHS BEFORE

• Courier your documents for your civil or church ceremony to your wedding planner in Puerto Vallarta (if applies to you)
• Mail your invitations
• Send your announcement to newspapers
• Get programs printed

2 – 4 WEEKS BEFORE

• Confirm final number of guests attending
• Arrange for seating plan. Write out tables and place cards
• Get programs printed
• Give the final guests count to your caterer/restaurant location
• Finalize ceremony and reception itinerary with your wedding planner

7-2 DAYS BEFORE

• Meet with your wedding planner upon your arrival to finalize details, pick favors, guests cards, table cards, etc
• For those having a civil ceremony, we will pick up the tourist cards and take you to the briefing and lab for blood tests.
• Hair and make trial (if needed)

1 DAY BEFORE

• Ceremony Rehearsal (if needed)
• Rehearsal Dinner
• Treat your self to pedicure and manicure

DAY OF THE WEDDING

• Eat Breakast
• Go to the salon/spa for salon services and to relax

• Enjoy your beautiful wedding!
